Computer Science and Finance student at University of Waterloo, passionate about building intelligent systems that solve real-world problems
I'm in my third year at Waterloo studying Computer Science and Finance, set to graduate in 2027. Most of my time goes into building things—specifically AI systems, software, and applications that actually solve problems people care about.
Work-wise, I've gotten to work on some interesting stuff. At Geotab, I developed AI agents that cut operational costs by thousands of dollars. At a stealth startup, I built financial infrastructure that ended up helping secure investor interest.
Now, if you think I only care about code and finance, you'd be wrong. Outside of work and school, I'm all over the place with my interests. I call myself a serial hobbyist, but here's the thing—I can't do anything halfway. If I'm going to try something, I need to really understand it and get good at it.
Take golf. I'll spend hours at the range obsessing over my swing—filming it, tweaking mechanics, making adjustments. With cooking, I'm the same way. I'm a huge foodie who loves trying new restaurants, then going home to reverse-engineer the dishes. I'll study technique, figure out why certain temperatures matter, practice knife skills until they feel automatic.
I even played video games (Counter-Strike if you're wondering) professionally for a bit, which was a huge testament in what improvement actually requires: watching replays, finding mistakes, drilling the fundamentals over and over. Music is another thing I'm really into. I play classical guitar (mixed with some fun pop songs here and there) and put a lot of effort into perfecting my technique.
"It's pretty consistent across everything I do: 'good enough' doesn't really cut it for me. I want to actually master whatever I'm working on, whether that's optimizing an algorithm or nailing a dish I had at a restaurant last week."
If you are the same or we share some interests, I'd love to hear from you. Don't feel afraid to reach out.
